I think of what the name means.... BECOMING, which to me is a fit name for the ultimate nature of reality.... always changing, always in transition, always becoming...

religion is from latin, to bind.... whatever binds your mind to your understanding of reality counts, so that even atheism can be a religion, as the American Atheists proved in court.
spirituality is from full of breath or hot air.... breath being a symbol of invisible powers... like ideas and emotions...
the wisest advise I know comes from Robert A wilson --- Everyone has their own Belief System, the trick is to never take anyones BS too seriously, especially ones own.
this can be accomplished by realizing that all experiences are facts, but beliefs about them are not.
I see something wispy and shaped like a man, nearly transparent.... can be a fact--- a fact of perceptions, an experience.
I see a ghost, is a belief, not necessarily a fact, not necessarly wrong either....but just a belief, a conclusion drawn from education, experiences and previous beliefs.
People such as JWs tend to give two opposing beliefs as the ONLY alteranatives and then provide evidence for one over the other...and by doing this over and over again they steer the uninformed to their conclusions.... yet in just about every case one can think of many different possibilities not given by the JWs or others using the same tactics
and just because all CURRENT evidence points to one of two GIVEN possibilities does not make that ONE the correct answer.... just the most likely of the possibilities at hand... this is often overlooked by those seeking absolute answers to open questions.

What's Old is New Again
by 95stormfront infrom the notes of "incognita"......... i was doing a little comparing of the new book "what does the bible really teach?
" and guess what?????????????
the chapters are identical to the knowledge book-------------this book was printed in 1995--------so they had to disguise it with a soft cover and change the name for 2005. our posters are wondering what the new book contains, well here are a list of the 19 chapters just like in the knowlege book, but worded a little different....................new light------hum-bug......... .

Where Is The Ultimate Truth Found?
by JamesThomas inthere is much discussion here about the bible.
some might see that after hundreds of years of argument and controversy no two people interpret the damn thing exactly the same, and so they have acquired the wisdom to abandon it.
there is a story which goes like this: .

is there an ultimate truth?
if you found one how could you really be sure?
I know things which seem true to me now, but I dont know any way to tell if they would always be true under all circumstances...
who does?
the idea of an all knowing god who could tell such things is purely a matter o faith not fact....
some questions seem to have no answer, but I have yet to find an answer I could not question.
what is important to me is reality...
and reality is what you can get away with. --Robert a Wilson.

Question About The Religion
by ImACatholic injehovah's witnesses do not believe or teach some of the very basic tenets of christian doctrine.
1. the trinity.
2. the omnipresence of god.

We need to remember that anyone who denies the divinity of Jesus Christ and carries the heavy burden of a false, religious spirit is going to be going through a lot of highs and lows. True believers, empowered by the companionship of God, the Holy Spirit have a constant presence of the Lord about them that seems to act like a magnet at times. I told my son to just be himself with this friend and to keep him in daily prayer. God would draw his friend to a place where he could be reached and given a loving and gentle witness. It has already brought a profound and positive change to their relationship and we pray daily, as a family for this young man and his family.
sorry, but some of us now believe this is such a load of $#!+ it makes our eyes bleed to see people such as yourself proclaims such beliefs as facts. remember pretending a belief is a fact is called lying.

Does the Ransom Sacrifice doctrine add up?
by nicolaou incommon to almost all flavours of the christian faith is the teaching of the ransom.
that the sacrifice of jesus' perfect human life paid back the debt of the perfect human life which our forefather adam had forfeited.. but is it truly a 'corresponding sacrifice'?.
points to consider:.

if Jesus was real and did pay for the sins of mankind.... why do people still die?
if people must die, then the JW belief in surviving the big A are just BS.[belief systems] without basis....
seems to me if the debt is paid, then there is no reason left for the penalty to apply.
yet the penalty of sin = death is still being applied to every human being, no exceptions found so far...and there is no justification in penalizing one who has been freed of his penality, now is there?
but like any con game, excuses must be found and given...nothing more. is required for people of faith.

I like linux, but I dont like that there is much it cannot do, so my solution is that I am running linux on my old HP [circa 2000] which has 192M ram and I am connecting to it via NX or nomachine running on my new xp....so I use one keyboard and one monitor for both... the linux shows up as a window and It runs on my local network without much delay
I now have access to both from work from a free web service called mywebex.com which has a bit of a delay but works great.

while a JW a worker got me by saying , how can you eat meat when there is no possible way to completely bleed it?
I asked the Circuilt Overseer who was in town...
his answer was
Jehovah is neither an extremist nor an absolutist...
seems dying for blood loss is pretty extreme if a transfusion will fix it...

the basis is flawed
Adam died of natural causes, God did nothing to change adam physically, he only prevented him from the tree of life... had the potential, even after the fall to grant eternal life.... so there was no sin nature transferred to Adams children and the whole rest of the story is bogus

I'm telling lies from the stage
by DannyBloem ini recently gave a public talk, and i really felt bad about it.. it was the public talk about the great flood of noahs days.
the is so much evidence that this great deluge never happened, but that is something you can't tell the audience from the stage.
(i will tell about that evidence if people are interested, but it is a bit off-topic now).

that is what I mean. Both things would be telling lies for me.
if you re-read what I wrote, you are not lying you would be saying THOSE who beileve....not you.
